Three types of engines can be found in the Cherokee. The 2.0L Turbo I-4 engine is optional in the Latitude Plus, Altitude, Limited, and High Altitude trims, generating 270 horsepower.

In the front-wheel drive (FWD) trims, the 2.4L Tigershark® MultiAir® 2 engine with 180 horsepower is standard for the Latitude, Latitude Plus, Altitude, and Limited trims, but in the four-wheel drive (4WD) vehicles, it is only standard in the Latitude, Latitude Plus, and Altitude trim levels. You can opt for the 3.2L Pentastar® V6 engine with 271 horsepower in the FWD Latitude, Latitude Plus, Altitude, and Limited trims, and find it standard for the High Altitude. It is also standard in the Upland, North Edition, Trailhawk, Limited, High Altitude, and Trailhawk Elite 4WD trims.

Cherokee Packages

If you choose specific trims within the new Cherokee, you can take advantage of packages that outfit your SUV with a group of features. For example, the Comfort / Convenience Group, available for the Latitude Plus, Altitude, and Trailhawk trim levels, comes with a power liftgate, rear view auto-dimming mirror, Remote Start System, security alarm, and universal garage door opener.

Except for the North Edition, Limited, High Altitude, and Trailhawk Elite trims, the Cold Weather Group offers an engine block heater, heated front seats and steering wheel, windshield wiper de-icer, and Remote Start System—perfect for cold winter mornings. The Luxury Group gives Limited and High Altitude trim owners plush options like carpeted cargo area trim panels, hands-free power liftgate, ventilated front seats, and a tonneau cover.

Technology makes a rough ride a smooth commute. Each trim level features different amenities that relax and inform you, accessible on various touchscreen sizes.

If you love listening to music, whether during a 10-minute errand or multi-hour journey, enjoy the Alpine® Premium Audio System with nine speakers and an 8-inch subwoofer, available on the Latitude Plus, Altitude, and Trailhawk, and standard for the Limited, High Altitude, and Trailhawk Elite trims. Maybe you just need a 6-speaker audio system, instead, which is standard on most trims except the Limited, High Altitude, and Trailhawk Elite.

Touchscreen size matters if you prefer a larger one. If bigger means better, focus your search on the Cherokee trims that provide the Uconnect® 8.4-inch touchscreen display, including North Edition, Trailhawk, Limited, High Altitude, and Trailhawk Elite.
