Performance

Three different engines come in the new Jeep Cherokee. The 2.0L I4 Turbo, which gives you 270 horsepower strengthened by 295 lb-ft of torque; a 2.4L MultiAir 2 Tigershark®, which offers 180 horsepower backed by 171 lb-ft of torque; and a 3.2L V6 Pentastar® that registers 271 horsepower reinforced by 239 lb-ft of torque.

Interior

For those raw winter nights, relish the Cherokee interior’s heated front seats, standard in some trims. Your Jeep SUV also brings warmth to backseat passengers with available heated seats in several trims. If you want heated front seats for your Equinox, they only come standard in one trim. As for your passengers, you can get optional rear heated seats in one trim.

Continue the warm motif with a heated leather steering wheel for your Jeep, standard for some trims. In the Equinox, an optional leather steering wheel can feature heat in one trim.

Cherokee vs Equinox Safety

Get an extra hand when changing lanes or going in reverse by using systems in your Cherokee that help you accomplish these driving tasks. In several trims, Blind Spot Monitoring and Rear Cross Path Detection appear as standard features, and the LaneSense® Lane Departure Warning System can be made available in many others. Meanwhile, the comparable Equinox Rear Park Assist and Lane Change Alert with Side Blind Zone Alert only comes standard in one trim.

Your Cherokee can house an available Alpine® Premium Speaker System that plays your tunes from nine speakers, while the highest trim of the Equinox gives you an available Bose® premium audio system with only seven speakers.

Jeep proves that bigger may be better with a 7-inch TFT color display—standard in four trims—that presents information like your speed and gas mileage right on the dash. At the two highest trim levels, the Chevy offers a comparable 4.2-inch Driver Information Center display that shows similar information.

If you want to see your directions or the name of the song or band playing, view the Cherokee’s 8-inch Touch Screen Display, standard in four trims. A similarly sized color touchscreen in the Equinox measures eight inches across but only comes standard in one trim.
