Jeep Renegade Dashboard Light Guide

Jeep Renegade

How often have you reviewed your Jeep Renegade’s dashboard lights? You may notice some of the more typical ones that come on when you start your engine but then go away. Some, however, may continue to light up in order to indicate a possible issue.

Our team at Scranton Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram wants drivers to have better awareness of their vehicle, so we wrote this Jeep Renegade dashboard light guide to go over some symbols you may see while driving. If certain ones light up, you can schedule a service appointment with our team near Clarks Summit, Dickson City, and Dalton, PA.

Check out our guide today, and let our technicians know if you have any questions!

Battery Charge Warning Light

Battery Light

The Battery Charge Warning Light looks like a battery with a minus sign on the left and a plus sign on the right.

It means your battery is not charging as it should, which indicates an issue with your vehicle’s charging or electrical systems. You can schedule a service appointment to have it looked at and get the battery charging again.

Oil Pressure Sensor Failure Warning Light

The Oil Pressure Sensor Failure Warning Light looks like a can of oil with a large exclamation mark next to it.

Your vehicle has a sensor to detect oil pressure, but that sensor may experience an issue. When you notice this symbol, schedule an appointment so that the oil pressure can be properly measured.

Anti-Lock Brake System Warning Light

Brake Light

The Anti-Lock Brake System Warning Light appears as the letters “ABS” within a circle that has two curved lines on either side.

In normal circumstances, it will light up as you start your engine but should go away. When it doesn’t light up or doesn’t go away after coming on, this means there is an issue with your Anti-Lock brake system that needs to be looked into.

Audio System Failure Light

The Audio System Failure Light appears as a speaker with a large exclamation mark next to it.

Issues within your audio system will produce this dashboard light, and it will require maintenance to repair the system.

Service 4WD Warning Light

Jeep Renegades with 4-wheel drive may show the Service 4WD Warning Light on the dashboard. This symbol will say “SERV 4WD” and alerts you to a malfunction with your 4-wheel drive system.

You want to take full advantage of the traction that 4-wheel drive presents, so make sure to bring your vehicle in for service as soon as possible.

4WD Over Temperature Warning Light

The 4WD Over Temperature Light looks like a thermometer above the text “4WD.” It means your 4-wheel drive system is overheating.

Your specific drive mode will be paused for the time being and will resume when the system cools down.

Exterior Bulb Failure Indicator Light

The Exterior Bulb Failure Indicator Light appears like a light bulb with an exclamation point in the center. The bulb also has lines pointing out of it.

When one of your exterior bulbs encounters an issue, it’s difficult for you to see. Therefore, it’s important to notice this light so you can have the bulb fixed or replaced.

Idle Coasting Indicator Light

The Idle Coasting Indicator Light looks like a sailboat.

It comes on when Idle Coasting is active, which results in the conserving of fuel.
